Essenze Ermenegildo Zegna fragrances in a new eau de parfum concentration

Until recently, the Essenze Ermenegildo Zegna collection interested me little, because it was released by a brand that deals with conservative men's clothing. What do you usually expect from such fragrances? Office restraint, the freshness of a swimming pool or something for shaving, the strength of tobacco or cognac. I usually skip such "costume" classics, because I don't find anything interesting. I also skipped the nice Essenze collection, dedicated to fragrant materials. I would have walked past the beauty, but the press service of the brand sent a magnificently designed sample set with five of the latest new products of the brand in an atypical concentration of eau de parfum for men's perfumes.

“Oud?” — regular readers will ask again with considerable surprise. Yes! Imagine! After so many years of passion and then natural satiety with oud, in 2019 a perfume critic says that he likes a fragrance with oud in the name. If anything in the new eau de parfum Essenze Ermenegildo Zegna can remind you of classic men's fragrances, it's Mediterranean Neroli. Although I wouldn't call it a "suit" classic, because at the moment when a man whips up a thick snow-white shaving foam, he's wearing only a towel. Who would have thought that soapy-creaky-fresh neroli is so sexy? Well, there you go.

Florentine Iris eau de parfum is captivatingly soft at first, full of greenery, primrose pollen, still cold spring air and drops. But almost immediately a powerful woody-amber base appears in it, reminiscent of Niral Neela Vermeire. The wood and amber do not seem to interfere with the delicate purple flowers, but over time you feel the aroma no longer as a light watercolor, but as a dense starched satin shirt collar.
