Sylvaine Delacourte Vanilla Collection

In just a couple of days, you will be able to try five new fragrances from the Vanilla Collection by Sylvain Delacourt at Rivoli Parfumerie, which means it’s time to tell you about them. I first saw Valkyrie, Vangelis, Virgile Vanori, Vahina in April at the Esxence exhibition in Milan and took all five away in hefty laboratory samples. The first letter V in their names means vanilla. Who doesn’t love vanilla? It evokes exclusively positive emotions in most people around the world. But different positive ones! Because vanilla can also be very different.

Valkyrie wounds with a bright arrow and an icy gaze. Bitter citrus, aldehydes, frost-covered grass and black rocks darkening in the depths of the fjord. The warm silky skin of the shoulder, defenseless in the cold, with a light aroma of honey, fatigue and sweat, peeks out from under a woolen coat with rough leather belts and fringe. A Valkyrie indeed.

Maurice Roucel

Lime, basil, mint, vanilla, sandalwood, bitter orange

Vangelis is the complete opposite of Valkyrie in temperament. He is so ingratiating, flexible and relaxed. He greets everyone with the honeyed sweetness of apricot jam, the insidious harmlessness of a Campari cocktail and a drop of apricot pit cyanide. Good, the bastard.

Irene Farmachidi

Clementine, almond, vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves.

Virgile seems to have just been mixed in a small and nameless Milanese pharmacy, which has been supplying the residents of the neighborhood with ointments and scented waters for three hundred years. Fragrant sage and thick-skinned citrus fruits came to Virgile from the Italian kitchen, geranium from the balcony, and vanilla was brought and exchanged for gold by Spanish merchants. The result is a seemingly not very complex, but very nice cologne for a respectable gentleman.

Irene Farmachidi

Sage, thyme, geranium, cedar and vanilla

Vanori combines the sweetness of confectionery vanillin, the moist breath of greenhouse flowers and the ringing freshness of a galvanized bucket. A very clearly drawn perfume profile aimed at your beaded purses. The experience of both authors in the industry is felt - Sylvaine Delacourte and perfumer Irene Farmachidi from TechnicoFlor Parfums.

Grapefruit, honey, vanilla, frangipani

Vahina, but they will love the aroma itself. It has a very competently measured dose of sweetness and a truly confectionery, gourmet vanilla that residents of the northern country can tolerate. Essentially, Vanine is flambé oranges that have been quickly fried in oil, sprinkled with nuts, poured with rum and vanilla syrup and set on fire.

Randa Hammami

Orange, osmanthus, orange blossom, tonka beans, vanilla.

What do we have as a result? Five fragrances on such a popular and meticulously worked out theme, where it would seem there is nothing more to say. But Sylvaine Delacourte found the only right intonation, and perfumers made five easy-to-read, very modern and elegant European messages for her project, of which at least one is sure to please you.
