There is much beauty and much chaos in what the old French perfume house Molinard does. For example, on the official website you will not find several collections that are easily sold in Europe or America and you will find many fragrances that will never appear here. But the biggest confusion is that most of the Molinard collections are dedicated to the fragrant materials popular in the French perfume tradition, and almost every line has amber, jasmine, rose and patchouli. But these are different amber compositions and different patchoulis. Why? Don't ask. Just accept it as a given, and if you are going to buy Molinard fragrances online or on occasion, be sure to check.

My favorite patchouli is Patchouli Eau de Parfum Molinard in a purple bottle from Les Elements Collection, which smells of dry earth, spicy herbs, vanilla and leather. Patchouli Intense from the Les Éléments Prestige line, which recently arrived, is generously flavored with amber and dark chocolate in the French manner. Its thick, nostril-tickling confectionery spirit will fill you to the very top of your head. You will drown and dissolve in its creamy-nutty, such an alluring, greasy blackness without a trace, and in the end you will feel like a fragrant truffle (candy) in a gilded box.

Molinard has at least three chypres in its different collections, but pay attention to Chypre Charnel Les Éléments Prestige, built on a combination of scarlet velvet roses and the exciting bitterness of moss and patchouli.
