Rubini Tambour Sacré

All plans for thoughtful and concentrated sitting over blotters collapsed when I took an envelope with a sample of Tambour Sacré Rubini profumi out of the mailbox. Something in the parcel unwound from the long journey, and the entire package, the entire box was filled with green dope.

The stunningly loud and never-ceasing pulsating hum of Tambour Sacré filled everything, as if I found myself inside a drum, which someone was beating, checking with a rhythm known only to it. Green, viscous, mixed from citrus oils, poisons, resins and squeezes of some wild roots and herbs, Tambour Sacré saturated my skin, eyes, breath with its toxic fumes, and everything I looked at or touched later also became viscous, toxic and green. Tambour Sacré has definitely arrived to take over the world!

If the first perfume of the project by Andrea Bissoli Rubini and perfumer Cristiano Canali — Fundamental — was subtle and excitingly strange, then the second one showed the power of some unknown magic coming from the earth. The authors claim that this earth is African. I believe! I can’t wear both Rubini fragrances, but I believe and sincerely admire them as art objects.
