King of Flowers Alghabra Parfums
There is only one thing I want to say about the fragrances from the Poetic Scents Of Damascus collection by the young Syrian-Turkish brand Alghabra Parfums: don't miss them. Don't miss the perfumes made with soul and great love, dedicated to Damascus, a city that most of us know nothing about and are unlikely to learn anything about in the near future. Alas, it will not become a tourist center anytime soon, so we will listen to stories about it from those who grew up in Damascus, remember the noisy shopping streets and quiet courtyards in the jasmine thickets, lush gardens and perfume shops of the Old City.
My favorite in the Poetic Scents Of Damascus collection — King of Flowers breathes the freshness of pink dew and blooming lemon trees in a shady garden. With it you want to freeze, freeze for at least a few minutes in silence and coolness, stretch your legs on a couch covered with a colorful carpet and lazily sip tea — a fashionable vanilla latte, gnaw candied nuts, squint at the sun through the sharp leaves of palm trees.
In King of Flowers I see an homage to another king of flowers — the Shalimar garden, in honor of which one of the most famous perfumes of the 20th century was named — Shalimar Guerlain. In King of Flowers there is the same light fougere start with cyanides, lemon and lavender, the same dry bitter vanilla with incense, but there are no wide-hipped oriental beauties. King of Flowers — the East, but modern, energetic and young.
Alghabra Parfums fragrances are released in extrait de parfum concentration, so I would be very surprised if anyone complained about their longevity.
