Regalien Parfums

Today at the distributor's stand at the exhibition I finally saw the wonderful Turkish brand Regalien Parfums, which I have been praising since the Milan Esxence. The distributor and the brand representative confirmed that the fragrances will soon go on sale, which means it's time to tell you more about Regalien.

All production of Regalien Parfums is located in Turkey. Their own perfumer Cara Sylvain, their own local plant for the production of fragrances and bottling. I only noticed that the bottles are French, but this does not spoil the brand, in my opinion. On the one hand, everything is made by themselves. On the other hand, there is nothing specifically oriental in the fragrances, because Turkey is no longer exotic, and the residents of large Turkish cities are not much different from you and me or the Italians. They travel all over the world, dress in European clothes and want to use the same perfumes. From the oriental they have, perhaps, an increased demand for the durability of the compositions. But our compatriots support the Turks in this.

Regalien currently has two collections, and in April in Milan the third one will be released, dedicated to Turkish coffee and traditional sweets. The large Luxury Collection in bottles from the old French glass factory Pochet du Courval was remembered by me for the beautiful fruity chypre Vanity Oud. When the testers appear in stores, I will thoroughly try everything else, but I have everything from the Lucky Collection - extracts in small and heartbreakingly bright bottles.

Spade of Vetiver

I love salty, torn by icy winds from the sea, rough and mossy Spade of Vetiver. It smells as if the Turks were carried away to the rocky shore of the Gulf of Finland, and they are sitting among the boulders left by the Ice Age in a squelching brown swamp among gray whitish moss, ferns and cloudberries. They escape the cold in dugouts, wash down their colds with a potion of cypress leaves, geranium and sage and wait for the Vikings to fight. But by the time they wait, they will freeze completely from the piercing harsh cold.

Spade of Vetiver 2019

Mountain air, earthy notes, grapefruit, cardamom, sea accord, geranium, sage, cypress, salt, incense, opopanax, vetiver, patchouli

Clubs of Iris

Clubs of Iris balances somewhere between two magical arts - cooking and alchemy. From the fermented roots of iris, dried apricots, black cloves and carrot seeds that make up the aroma, you can knead the dough for exotic fragrant cookies, or you can grind these Saturnian plants and spices on a round dark wooden tabletop and add them to lead to quickly turn it into gold.

Woody, earthy and sweet-fruity iris in Clubs of Iris is so powerful that you can't help but believe that cold nuclear fusion is possible.

Clubs of Iris 2019

Grapefruit, bergamot, violet leaves, raspberry, anise, cloves, orris, rose, patchouli, cedar, vetiver, amber, musk

Diamond of Velvet

Diamond of Velvet is the calmest and most delicate story in the Lucky Collection. It smells of smoky saffron leather like a herbalist's knapsack, always stuffed with seeds, some kind of vials with oils, mysterious amulets made of bone beads and polished sticks, candied nuts and sweet poison. At first, the leather is rough, but then the aroma softens, melts and seems to slip out of sight. Or maybe you slip away, falling asleep under its hypnotizing muttering. In the dry residue after many hours, evernil and woody-amber bitterness remain.

Diamond of Velvet 2019

Peach, orange, saffron, violet leaves, iris, heliotrope, osmanthus, nard, ginger, tonka beans, patchouli, ambrette, leather, styrax, tar

Heart of Rose

Heart of Rose did not live up to my expectations for a rose-led fragrance. Here, the rose is not even a backup singer, but the center of attention is a giant, pulsating, wild musk, only slightly seasoned with spices and fruits. You could say that Heart of Rose is a symmetrical answer to Montale's rose musk, but not sticky.

Heart of Rose 2019

Orange, pineapple, watermelon, lily, nutmeg, violet, cinnamon, neroli, coriander, rose, patchouli, white chocolate, amber, musk, vetiver
