7 Lovers Carine Roitfeld Parfums

I understand that now I will praise another hard-to-get and expensive perfume, but it is worth it. An important person in the fashion world, Carine Roitfeld did not study and work for so many years in vain and did not earn her reputation out of thin air. Her collection Carine Roitfeld 7 Lovers is practically flawless. The Roitfeld team took care of original compositions, and a beautiful, slightly old-fashioned website that looks like a paper magazine, and top-notch packaging. I have not seen the bottles yet, but when you unpack the case made of the finest silky leather with a collection of travel sprays 7 lovers (seven lovers), you can no longer think of anything except these very lovers. But the idea, in my opinion, is a letdown. Changing lovers every day of the week is very French, yes, but tying stories to cities in niche perfumery causes nothing but boredom. However, I didn't look at Carine Roitfeld's map very much. Somewhere our feelings coincided, somewhere I had my own associations.

Orson

The cutest lover, who you can stare at endlessly. Tall, broad-shouldered, half-naked handsome Orson walks across a sunlit July meadow with a scythe. One swing, and lungwort, bindweed, and sweet peas fall to the ground along with the mown grass. Another swing, and the scythe catches bitter lavender and a bush of meadow strawberries. Just alive, the grasses instantly wither in the hot sun, and an intoxicating hay scent rises above the hayfield and the mower.

Orson is an abundant classic fougere, successfully avoiding cliches, but full of colors and quotes from the perfumery of the distant past. Carine Roitfeld admires Orson on the roofs of New York, but I see him everywhere, where a young, handsome and taciturn lover would like to play with his muscles under his tanned, sweaty skin.

Lawrence

Lover Lawrence is registered in Dubai, but in my opinion, such a handsome man can be found anywhere where there are stables and horse racing. Small, lean, he just waddled out of the stall. His high boots, polished with the best wax in the morning, are now covered in horse sweat, and manure and clumps of hay are stuck to the soles, but his smile is fresh, and there is chamomile in his teeth.

From the very first minutes, Lawrence resembles a slightly loose version of Cuir de Russie Chanel parfum, only in a young, sexy, lovely version and with tuberose instead of jasmine.

Vladimir

Lover Vladimir (by the way, Carine Roitfeld's son is called Vladimir) smells of cognac, backstage dust, theater dressing room sweat, iris and pine resin. The fragrance is dedicated to the ballet dancers from St. Petersburg, and I believe in this story unconditionally, because once in my childhood I saw the inside of the theater, and I will never forget the palette of its smells. I remember being struck by the handsome prince's costume, sewn from oilcloth, the ballerinas' dresses caught at the waist and the endless rows of tattered pointe shoes.

George

For lover George, there is only one woman - his mother, and the best perfumes are those that she chose: Coriandre Jean Couturier, Chanel 19, Silences Jacomo. In addition to his mother's green chypres, George loves to argue and drink ice-cold vodka. However, he also has his advantages - he is always clean-shaven and tireless.

George Carine Roitfeld is from London, but as for me, the image has no territorial, national or temporal boundaries.

Aurelien

Lover Aurelien is a romantic young man who will be left overnight, but after breakfast will be politely shown the door. He will silently drink coffee, looking at the motionless blanket in the semi-darkness of the room, write down a phone number on a napkin, miraculously without breaking his neck, run down the steep stairs and disappear into the foggy Parisian morning.

The author of this composition is also called Aurelien - Aurelien Guichard, and he made a very French perfume for Carine Roitfeld with the freshness of the morning and youth, purple sheets and white flowers. Maybe he did something else, but we will never know.

Sebastian

Lover Sebastian is a handsome sailor in his own right. He smells of diesel fuel and salt, a little sweat, cheap wine, oysters and Mediterranean heat. He is a hot guy, but, as psychologists would say, toxic and prone to abuse. Sex is possible, falling in love is not necessary. For Roitfeld, Sebastian is an Argentine and a tango dancer. If so, then tango on the deck or in a bar by the sea.

Kar-Wai

Roitfeld picked up Kar-Wai's lover somewhere in Hong Kong at the exit of a fashionable niche perfume shop. A young man in a smooth suit with tight trousers doused himself with something amber-woody and incense-like and stinks so much that it stings the eyes of those around him. Advanced, but not independent. Could be a laptop stand.

I liked them all. It's hard to choose one favorite. I want to be like the frivolous French and get myself all seven lover fragrances to suit my mood. I don't need, perhaps, the woody-amber Kar-Wai, but that's personal.

All the fragrances in the collection are equally good on both men's and women's skin, they last a decent amount of time and confidently declare themselves. It's hard to compare them with anything, because in a niche you rarely find such attention to detail, and in luxury there is no freedom from gender stereotypes. 7 Lovers Carine Roitfeld is somewhere between genres and categories and very much on its own.

The brand's headquarters and main sales points are overseas. I haven't found anything in Europe yet, and they don't send any to us. I really hope that this will change in the very near future.
