Perris Monte Carlo extrait de parfum

The Perris Monte Carlo extract collection has always had two drawbacks – the price and the impossibility of limiting yourself to one or two fragrances. You need them all. Extracts, and this is a rare case for me, I want to mix. To complement earthy dark patchouli with honeyed ylang, and fecal and slightly pharmaceutical oud with sweet strawberry rose. My favorite mix is: two drops of Rose de Taif on the back of the head, a drop of Ylang Nosy be on the left shoulder, a drop of Santal du Pacifique on the right. However, they are also good as independent compositions.

Patchouli Nosy Be – the trembling of the earth. A layer of grated bitter chocolate with red hot pepper, a layer of raisins soaked in cognac, a layer of hard turf underneath and another meter of black soil, permeated with silver threads of mycelium, worm and mole passages. The kingdom of the invisible and unseeing.

Patchouli, pepper, cocoa, labdanum, vanilla, cedar, sandalwood.

Rose de Taif – the scent of roses, taken from roses and adapted by man for his own pleasure. Rose de Taif smells of strawberry and rose Turkish delight served with rose petal tea in a fragrant rose garden, where roses are everywhere and in all possible states of aggregation. One of my favorite roses. Travels with me on all my trips.

Lemon, nutmeg, geranium, Taif rose, Damascus rose, musk.

Oud Imperial is an illusion of oud, collected from sea fog, fumes of tropical swamps, rotten leaves and the shadow of an elephant's ass retreating into the jungle. The smell is salty and dirty, more like a dense mixture of patchouli, amber and Tonkin musk than natural oud. It sounds especially piquant in a mix with Patchouli Nosy Be.

Jasmine, cumin, incense, patchouli, saffron, sandalwood, cedar, vetiver, labdanum, oud.

Ylang Ylang Nosy be is the star of the collection. Surprisingly soft and relaxed. You expect to smell a bright white floral "ainane", but you get a sunny amber-colored fragrant oil for some ritual Indian rubs. And it's hard to say what's more in it, honey peaches, vanilla cream or flowers.

Ylang, lemon, grapefruit, cardamom, jasmine, orange blossom, rose, amber, labdanum, vetiver, cedar, vanilla.

Santal du Pacifique is a rectangular/parallelepiped aroma-blank, smelling of iris root, a little pine needles and bars of light fragrant wood, from which they later carve coasters for cups or Pinocchios. I don't perceive it as an independent one. Only as an addition to the floral extracts of Perris Monte Carlo.

Carrot, orchid, violet, sandalwood, wood, musk.

Absolue d’Osmanthe is a wild forest monster with shaggy fur and all in burrs, asleep under an osmanthus bush. It is lulled by the warmth of the earth and the light apricot-soap aroma of delicate yellowish flowers. More of a leather and animalic than a floral scent. Very insidious in the warmth and the only one in the collection that does not mix with anything.

Osmanthus, jasmine, sandalwood, rose, amber, wood, vanilla, labdanum, Tolu balsam.
