Voyages Imaginaires Parfums
Isabelle Doyen and Camille Goutal could easily get a "beyond expectations" rating in potion-making. In their new project Voyages Imaginaires, all five compositions are not perfumes, but magical and strange potions in a slightly artisanal, casual style.
For example, Tea & Rock ‘n‘ Roll is not just tea. It is a potion that constantly changes its state of aggregation. Here around you there is a damp fog of high-mountain tea plantations, and then there is acrid green smoke. The smoke turns into a herbaceous drink from a calabash that squeaks on the teeth and suddenly hardens into a bar of green KitKat chocolate with matcha tea. Even I, not a fan of perfumed “tea”, found it interesting.

Bergamot, tea, mate, tonka beans, leather
Azahar is a potion for a vigorous awakening. Its effect lasts for those first fifteen minutes when you drink the first cup of coffee, absorb the cream on your face and put your thoughts in order. Clean and ringing neroli - the freshness of a washed, ironed and slightly starched white shirt. A drop of lavender and coumarin is a light bronzing powder on the cheekbones. Bitter resinous vanilla is a quick carbohydrate for coffee. It's great for the morning, and then the crispy powdery purity of Azahar can be carried further, or replaced with the white-flowered Le Grand Jeu.

Orange blossom, petitgrain, tangerine, vanilla, marshmallow.
An extra ingredient, a mouse tail, got into the cauldron where Le Grand Jeu was brewed from sun, salt, and coconut milk by an absurd accident. As a result, a light summer potion for protecting the skin from the sun turned into a softly immobilizing sleeping pill with the smell of the stuffy vapors of a night garden, tree mushrooms, and damp, fertilized earth. It cannot save you from a tan, but it can stupefy someone.

Gardenia, tuberose, coconut milk, vanilla
L’échappée sauvage helps to set up your internal hiking navigator so as not to get lost among the tall pines and dense thickets of ferns, not to go deaf in the silence of the forest from the ringing of cicadas and grasshoppers, not to go crazy from the fresh herbal scent. An indispensable potion for a city dweller who gets out into nature once every hundred years. In essence, L’échappée sauvage is a classic and even a little wild glass, devoid of any unnecessary decorativeness, but still beautiful.

Fig, bergamot, lemon, cedar, guaiac wood, tonka bean, almond, pink pepper
There’s something missing from La Couleur de la nuit for me. Some lacewing wings or griffin claws, so that the long soft needles of Italian pine, soap foam, pale pink rose and patchouli come together in a harmonious green chypre. Without this missing magical ingredient, the scent is like a cracked emerald crystal, whimsically refracting the darkness. But if you’re looking for a perfume with authentic, living pine, then this might be it. that’s it.

Lavender, geranium, vanilla, pine balsam, patchouli.
