Milano Fragranze

Alessandro Brun, the author of the already famous Masque Milano collection, dedicated his new perfume project to his beloved city and simply called it Milano Fragranze. With the help of scents, Alessandro tried to remind us, deprived of the opportunity to travel, of the most famous sights and traditions of Milan.

Milano Fragranze

Basilica

The oldest church in Milan was built as early as the fourth century on the burial site of the martyrs Gervasius and Protasius. The appearance of the church has changed several times. The last time it was seriously rebuilt after the bombing of Milan by the Allied forces. But the respectful attitude of the Milanese to the ancient building and the relics kept there has not changed. The olfactory postcard of the Basilica is a great autumn festival with many burning candles and censers, the sweet and spicy scent of fresh gingerbread and warm bread, the rich smell of wheel grease and branches of young pine trees.

Thyme, rosemary, hot milk, incense, labdanum, cypriol, cedar, sandalwood.

La Prima

La Prima is, of course, the famous La Scala opera house, where couples in love, old theater-goers in shabby mink coats and tourists from all over the world (often in sneakers and with pink hair) come on a date with art. The hall is a mixture of majestic tuberose and delicate bridal perfumes, scraps of smells of hastily smoked cigarettes, sweet popcorn and dusty velvet. You immediately feel from the general excitement and rapid breathing that the lights are about to go out and something magnificent will begin.

Cortile

Translated - an inner courtyard in an Italian palazzo. There are quite a few of them in Milan. In the courtyard of Palazzo Brera, where the Academy of Fine Arts is located, I hid from the heat, and in the evening it seems to be closed, but in other courtyards and right at the crossroads of narrow streets of the Brera quarter, small cafes set up tables so that you can sit under the starry sky and have something nice to drink.

In Cortile Milano Fragranze there is the blackness of the night sky and the heavy drunken spirit of blooming jasmine, there is, it seems, a drop of Aperol, coffee and focaccia with butter and dried herbs. At first, Cortile seemed gloomy, but over time I got used to the darkness and cold stones and, it seems, felt the pulse of the most party district of Milan.

Bergamot, coffee, cinnamon, violet leaves, jasmine, tuberose, osmanthus, ylang, amber, sandalwood, suede.

Brera is also a separate item in the Milano Fragranze collection. I remember that it smelled something like this in that part of the neighborhood where niche perfume boutiques are densely located. For Italians, a niche is powerful and bright, so Brera Milano Fragranze is dedicated to a sweet scarlet rose with cookies, raspberry marmalade, patchouli and saffron. We have tried something similar a million times and still love it.

Jasmine, rose, geranium, patchouli, labdanum, vanilla.

Naviglio

Don't throw away the blotter with Naviglio for at least 10 minutes! Let the aroma thaw and disperse a little. Yes, this is a cologne that is difficult to surprise a sophisticated person with, but this is a piercingly fresh cologne with the crunch of a starched white shirt just from under the iron and sterile air after quartz treatment. If you are calmed by the smell of cleanliness, you are in for a sharp move right here. One of the best soapy fragrances

Marseille soap, bergamot, neroli, lavandin, petitgrain, vetiver, cedar, white musk, aquatic accord.

Galleria

You can't just go and not visit the famous indoor shopping gallery of Victor Emmanuel II in Milan.

The gallery, which is actually a small square and four streets of expensive restaurants and fashion boutiques converging on it, shines with gold, light and splendor. The clatter of heels on the mosaic floor and the hum of hundreds of voices soars to the high glass roofs. Once upon a time, hundreds of tourists took pictures here every minute. I really hope that all this will return. For now, we are left with memories and smells, photos and Galleria Milano Fragranze with its light creamy sweetness of desserts and spicy coffee in tiny cups, with a chaotic mixture of exotic spices from around the world and a parade of the most expensive and fashionable bags in the hands of beauties who fell out of Instagram. Motley at first, after an hour Galleria calms down with sweet orris smoke and a leather strap.

Diurno

How many times have I passed by the Porta Venezia metro station and the ancient Venetian gates of Milan and not known that somewhere under Piazza Oberdan are the historic public baths of Milan. From 1926 to the mid-80s, you could go to the toilet, take a shower or bath, get a haircut, shave, and get a manicure at the Albergo Diurno Metropolitano. Every day from seven in the morning until 11 in the evening. Now little remains of the magnificent art deco interiors, but the memory of the place is preserved by the classic herbal glass Diurno Milano Fragranze. Soap foam and old-fashioned cologne with geranium, sage and star anise for the gentleman and 50 grams of something stronger for the nimble barbiere.

Perfumer Julie Masse

Amaretto, lavender, sage, geranium, vanilla, cedar, white musk, aquatic notes.

Derby

Usually when talking about derby, they mean horses, but in Milan this term refers to the battles between two local football teams, Inter and Milano. They are local, but they play world-class football, and passions run high.

The aroma will complete the picture of the stadium with a green silky grass carpet, unplanned rain, bitter wormwood and, for some reason, feijoa.
